Job Summary

Provide technical leadership for enterprise information technology efforts, including the design, development and delivery of technology-enabled applications, products and services. Provide solutions to technical issues, and be responsible for meeting project schedules and ensuring the delivered solution meets the technical specifications and design requirements. Technical Lead will drive the proficiency within the team, assure best practices are followed, support the delivery of quality solutions, and assist management in meeting strategic initiatives.

The UX/UI Design Team Lead should be responsible for following core project requirements:
  • Overall look and feel of digital products.
  • Manage and ensure effective design team collaboration internally and with development.
  • Manage the technical execution of the full development lifecycle of desktop/mobile prototypes.
  • Participate in the assessment of the customer environment and requirements, and identify development constraints.
  • Actively engage with the UX, UI designers and customer to complete and fully understand the user personas and the end user’s business needs as part of an agile team.
  • Drive the project from a UX/UI standpoint while developing strategy and insuring adherence to:
    • UI Standards
    • User Testing Standards
    • Usability Heuristics
  • Conduct research/discovery as needed to provide solutions.
  • Oversite of Content and Messaging strategy/design.
  • Oversite of Animation/Motion strategy/design.
  • Work through a variety of technical challenges that will require creativity and close collaboration across internal teams, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Set up and conduct Usability Testing programs both local and remote
  • Ability to work in a technical lead role to coordinate a team of resources to ensure quality and timely delivery of projects
  • Works with functional managers to establish and maintain technical standards and guidelines for their area
  • Works with functional manager to review and evaluate new technologies that may be beneficial to current and upcoming project work
  • Participate in the technical design review process to ensure high quality technical designs
  • Plan and oversee the development and support of specific IT areas and systems
  • Plan and direct activities related to introducing new services, products and processes
  • Coordinate technical tasks and work effort
  • Acts as an escalation for technical issues and support
  • Lead technical teams
  • Identifies and communicates risks to the business
  • Contributes in defining new business requirements
  • Performs as a mentor on process and techniques to assure proficiency within the team
  • Performs research and analysis on new technology and business practices with the team
  • Align solutions within the overall IT strategy
  • Assures best practices are defined and followed
  • Drives consistency across applications and projects wherever possible
  • Implement project management methodologies to ensure project success
  • Prepare and utilize project plans for significant IT development, enhancement and maintenance efforts
  • Develop and direct activities to increase systems and application availability
  • Act as a liaison for the technical team to the project management team and IT management
  • Communicate regularly with internal and external customers
  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
General UI/UX Knowledge:
  • Experience using the following UI or UX design tools: Photoshop, Illustrator, AdobeXD, HTML to depict the user experience in journey maps, flow diagrams, responsive web frameworks, data visualization, mockups, and prototypes
  • Leading projects to launch effectively within time and resource constraints that use the Agile/Scrum methodology, System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Web Contact Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and section 508 compliance requirements
  • Implementing and executing on all phases related to whiteboard/elaborations to help conceptualize designs; HTML-based mock-ups demonstrating overall UX design; translation of user feedback and business requirements into design solutions; and visual presentations and UI designs through UX principles.
  • Demonstrates abilities and/or a proven record of success with managing design solutions related to transforming abstract concepts into well-developed, polished user experience-based software solutions and deliverables, while operating in a fast-paced, open and collaborative environment.
  • Utilizing design-based software (i.e. Adobe CC- Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, AdobeXD) in conjunction with web and accessibility standards, such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks when developing user-interface prototypes and deliverables.
Skills:
  • Creating original, user-centered UX design solutions and user experiences that can be developed into specific products, emphasizing user interface design planning and development tools;
  • Collaborating cross-functionally in a heavily matrixed organization and incorporating feedback and gathered requirements from different managerial levels into design concepts and enhancements;
  • Developing or modifying large, complex, or mission critical information systems including analysis of business and user needs, documenting requirements, and revising system logic difficulties as necessary;
  • Designing low-fidelity and high-fidelity mockups, interaction models, user task flows, visual designs, and UI documentation/annotations that promote ease of use and improve the user experience;
  • Effectively coping with accelerating changes as required in a dynamic market and organization, adjusting priorities on an as-needed basis.
Position Requirements:
  • Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 6
  • Degree Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in IT related field or equivalent experience.
